Gift-card rewards for a national retailer

Built through an agency for a national retailer. When customers buy a qualifying item, they claim a reward online. The platform takes the claim, checks it, works out the reward for that brand, and sends a digital gift card drawn from a secure code vault. Two retail brands run on one engine, each with its own look, values and rules, and the agency’s team has an admin dashboard.

The retailer delivers card codes over SFTP; they’re encrypted on arrival. New promotions are set up as programs, not rebuilt from scratch.

Admin tools and new programs, for the same agency

The promotion engine started out built for one brand, with its colors, logo and legal text baked in. I made it brand-aware, so each retail brand gets its own look, gift-card values and rules from the same engine. The agency’s team prepares gift-card stock from an admin dashboard and sets up each new promotion as a program, not a rebuild.

Automated browser tests fill in every brand’s claim form end to end before anything ships.

Quarantined

Microsoft 365, email and IT for a small company

Ongoing support for a small company on Microsoft 365: mailbox and access problems, DNS and domain records, and the email authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) that keeps their mail out of spam and stops anyone else sending as them.

Everything is written down as it’s fixed, so the next person never has to guess how the setup works.

Client names stay private. Ask me and I’ll walk you through any of it on a call.

Custom business software

The tool your team actually needs: client portals, approvals and workflows, scheduling, internal dashboards, the spreadsheet that outgrew itself.

Ready to adapt: time tracking that fills itself in, for firms that bill by the hour. It notices which client you’re working for and drafts the invoice. My own practice runs on it.

Ready to adapt: an inbox assistant that sorts mail by client and drafts replies, and proposal drafting from a client’s brief. Both run my own practice every day.

Code and loginsYours

It launches, and I stay to run it.

About me

I’ve built websites and business software since 2011: two years at a web agency, then six at an e-commerce company, first as a front-end developer and designer, then as creative director, running a small team and working with the big brand partners. In 2019 I went out on my own as Swift Cardinal Creative.

Since then the work has moved toward the software and systems behind the business, and lately the AI tooling that takes busywork off people’s desks.

I work alone, on purpose. You talk to the person who writes the code and runs the servers, and nothing gets lost in a hand-off.
